Motovun is an unmissable destination for all lovers of Istrian food and wine this spring, and from April 3 to May 3, 2026, the first edition of the "Month of Asparagus and Malvasia in Motovun" event will be held, celebrating two authentic Istrian delicacies - wild asparagus and the Malvasia of Motovun winemakers.

During the month-long event, visitors to the Motovun area will be able to enjoy specially designed promotional menus inspired by the asparagus season in catering establishments - taverns and restaurants. Each menu also includes a glass of Malvasia from local winemakers, further emphasizing the combination of top-notch cuisine and the wine offer of this region.

The following catering establishments are participating in the event: Konoba Fakin, Konoba Pod Voltom, Restaurant Pod Napun, Restaurant Boutique Hotel Kaštel, Konoba Ressel as part of Casa Rossa Motovun, and the Tomaz winery.

The diverse offer includes a combination of tradition and modern cuisine – from scrambled eggs with asparagus, homemade fuži and pljukanci, to creative dishes such as ravioli with cheese and asparagus, sea bass fillet with wild asparagus, and fresh tagliolini with Istrian prosciutto and Malvasia emulsion.

The prices of the promotional menus range from 27 to 46 euros, which makes this event accessible to a wide range of visitors.

This unique spring event is an ideal opportunity for a gastronomic excursion, enjoying nature and discovering the wealth of local foods and wines. Motovun offers a special experience during this period – a combination of nature, tradition and top-notch gastronomy.
