15th International Festival of Arts - ARTERIA

At the end of September, the Novigrad Lapidarium Museum will become the epicenter of creativity and inspiration due to the 15th International Art Festival Arteria.

Given the recognition of the Istrian region for its wine culture, the main idea of this year's Arteria is how to share this cultural capital with artists. The template was found in the motif of a late antique tombstone from the Lapidarium Museum collection, as a metaphor for the central line of research from which various themes and artistic practices branch out.

During a one-week residency in Novigrad, artists will participate in a joint process of research and co-creation, and together, within the already existing exhibition "Collection A. ST." (also related to wine culture), they will build an exhibition that the public will be able to visit at the Lapidarium Museum and Rigo Gallery. In addition to the cultural and historical-artistic dimension, the exhibition establishes a relationship with issues of political ecology, human and trans-human relationships, and materiality.

In the evenings, there will be lectures and a musical performance, and we will announce the detailed program later:
