Novigrad Sports Hall
The traditional international stage cycling race Istrian Spring Trophy (Croatian: Istarsko proljeće) will take place from 7 to 10 March 2023, passing through Novigrad and other Istrian towns.
The second stage of this multi-day competition will kick off in Novigrad on Saturday, 9 March. The teams, with more than 170 competitors from all over the world, will gather at the sports hall in Novigrad at around 10 am, where a programme is organised until the start of the race scheduled for 11 am. The cyclists are expected to complete 160 kilometres during the first day of the race which ends in Motovun in the afternoon.
The 20th edition of the popular Istrian Spring Trophy passes through all the towns of our tourist cluster. Umag, Novigrad, Brtonigla, Buje, Grožnjan, Oprtalj and Motovun will therefore have the chance to confirm northwestern Istria’s status as an ideal destination for cyclists. Participants and visitors alike will be able to appreciate the unspoilt natural beauty of Istria and the hospitality of its residents.
The Istrian Spring Trophy race is attended by teams in both professional and continental categories, including future champions and stage winners of the Tour de France, Giro d’Italia and Vuelta a España. The race is included in the calendar of the International Cycling Union (UCI) and is famous in the cycling world for the number and quality of competitors.
