The Night of Museums in Istria is part of a national event that the Croatian Museum Society has been organizing for over two decades, in collaboration with museums and other cultural, scientific, and educational institutions across Croatia. Its aim is to highlight museums as dynamic and contemporary spaces that encourage research, creativity, and active public participation.
The event was first held in 2005 and today brings together more than 250 institutions across the country. Each year it is celebrated with a new thematic focus, and the Night of Museums traditionally takes place on the last Friday of January, featuring a rich program also in many museums in northwestern Istria.

This year, for the 21st year in a row, the Umag City Museum is participating in the national Night of Museums program and invites everyone to join them for another special museum evening. The Night of Museums will take place on Friday, January 30, 2026, with free admission for all visitors, starting at 18:00.
