When Novigrad Breathes the Blues…

At the end of June, Novigrad – Cittanova changes its rhythm – the town becomes a stage, and blues becomes its soul. The fourth edition of the Cittanova Blues Festival, from June 27 to 29, transforms the old town into a vibrant hub of domestic and international blues. Streets and squares will come alive with raw, emotional sounds from artists who don’t just play the blues – they live it.
The highlight of the festival is the main open-air concert on Saturday, June 28, at Veliki Trg / Piazza Grande. During the day, relaxed mini-performances in hidden town corners will set the tone for laid-back mornings and golden sunsets. It will be the perfect way to enjoy the rhythm, the coast, and the atmosphere.
Don’t miss the Cittanova Blues Train, a special wine & music tour through three authentic Istrian wineries, all accompanied by live blues performances – a unique blend of taste, ambiance, and sound.
More than a festival, the Cittanova Blues Festival is a revival of a musical legacy. Inspired by the vision of Boško Petrović three decades ago, the event was revived in 2022 by Denis Makin and Leo Anđelković (The Screaming Wheels), and Davor Hačić – local musicians who conquered Memphis, the heart of blues, and brought their dream back to life in Novigrad.
Today, blues has a new home. It's called Novigrad – Cittanova.
