The final concert in the “Umago Classica” program series is dedicated to the talented local musician Leonard Medica Gregorič. The program focuses on the great masters of classical guitar from the Iberian Peninsula, especially Spanish and Catalan composers whose miniatures have shaped the identity of the instrument from the 19th century to the present day. Their music encompasses folkloric liveliness, lyrical simplicity, and emotional depth, remaining a lasting inspiration and foundation of guitar literature.
Leonard Medica Gregorič (born 1997) is a musician with diverse interests. He graduated in jazz guitar and electronic music at the “Giuseppe Tartini” Conservatory in Trieste, where he is currently completing his classical guitar studies. He performs on various string instruments – from the lute in early music ensembles to the electric guitar in jazz groups and classical guitar in chamber ensembles. He teaches guitar at the music department of the Maria and Lina Elementary School in Umag and participates as a mentor in numerous music workshops and educational projects.
