Autumn in Novigrad – Cittanova will once again be marked by the Mediterranean Cup in Majorette Sports, taking place on 10 and 11 October.
Novigrad – Cittanova will once again host an international competition bringing together talented majorettes of different ages. Alongside the competitive programme in the Sports Hall, audiences can look forward to a colourful parade through the Old Town and a Gala Majorette Concert on Piazza Grande behind the bell tower on Saturday, 10 October. The parade starts at 6:00 PM, followed by the presentation of the City of Novigrad – Cittanova Cup for traditional majorette dance at 6:20 PM and the Gala Majorette Concert at 6:30 PM.
The competition will welcome 14 teams from five countries – Germany, Poland, Switzerland, Serbia and Croatia, with performances judged by an international panel from five countries. Majorettes will compete in three age categories – cadets, juniors and seniors – across solo, duo/trio, mini and large formations, as well as parade routines. Performances will feature batons, pom-poms, baton flags, flags and combinations of different props and stage sets. Around 200 choreographies will be presented during the competition.

The programme will once again include the traditional majorette dance competition, with the best teams in the cadet, junior and senior categories receiving the City of Novigrad – Cittanova Cup 2026. The awards ceremony will take place on Saturday at 6:20 PM on Piazza Grande, just before the Gala Majorette Concert.
The event is organised by HUMTA – Croatian Majorette Teams Association and EMTA – European Majorette Team Association, co-organised by the Novigrad – Cittanova Tourist Board and held under the patronage of the City of Novigrad – Cittanova.
