"The Magic on the Hill" - Rich Advent Program Announced in Motovun

Motovun invites you once again this year to spend the most magical time of the year in the beautifully decorated ambiance of the old town center of Motovun. The hosts have prepared the third edition of the rich advent program called "Magic on the Hill - Advent in Motovun"! This Istrian gem transforms during Advent into a magical destination filled with attractions for all ages. The advent magic, brimming with colors, decorations, tastes, and scents, can be experienced from December 13 to December 29, 2024, on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays starting at 4 PM.

The main square of Motovun will feature a festive and rich gourmet offering in advent cottages, along with a vibrant entertainment program showcasing exceptional musical performers such as Marko Škugor, Group Vigor, Night Express, Marko Tolja, and Group Cambi! Admission to all events is free, and parking for visitors is complimentary from 3 PM onward.

In addition to the old town’s heart being adorned with thousands of lights and beautiful decorations, the youngest visitors will be delighted by the "Christmas Garden," located in the garden of the Motovun walls. Here, they can enjoy lavish light decorations and visit "Santa’s House," where they can take photos and write him a letter with their wishes. Since last year, a part of the Motovun advent experience is the "Christmas Cinema," situated in the Bauer Cinema on the main square. This year, the cinema will shine even brighter in terms of picture and sound quality, as the Municipality of Motovun plans to complete its digitalization project with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Media of Croatia. In this upgraded Christmas Cinema, children will be able to enjoy screenings of children’s films and creative performances.

The main program of this year’s "Magic on the Hill" will begin with a traditional pre-Christmas concert by the Klapa Motovun choir, the "Nota Bene" choir of the Italian Community of Motovun - Montona, and their guests. This concert will take place on Friday, December 13, at 7 PM in the parish church of St. Stephen the Protomartyr on the main square.

On Saturday, December 14, the program kicks off at 5 PM in the Christmas Cinema with a children’s film screening. At 6:30 PM, DJ Hoky will warm up the audience on the main square, followed by a performance by Dalmatian singer Marko Škugor at 8:30 PM. Known as one of the most sought-after Croatian performers, he will captivate the audience with his many hits and outstanding renditions of songs by other artists.

On Sunday, December 15, the schedule includes a true family day. Starting at 4 PM, the Christmas Cinema will host a children’s play, followed by a children’s film screening at 5:30 PM. At 7 PM, DJ Hoky will take over on the main square.

On Friday, December 20, the program on the main square begins at 5 PM with a performance by DJ Hoky, setting the stage for a concert by the popular Group Vigor. Led by charismatic frontman Mario Roth, the band will perform their timeless hits and get the crowd dancing on the main square.

On Saturday, December 21, the day starts with a children’s play in the Christmas Cinema, followed by a children’s film screening. The main square entertainment will include DJ Hoky at 6:30 PM and the unforgettable Night Express, who will take the stage at 8:30 PM.

On Sunday, December 22, another family day awaits, starting at 4 PM with a children’s play in the Christmas Cinema. A children’s film screening will follow at 5:30 PM, and DJ Hoky will close the evening with a performance on the main square starting at 7 PM.

Friday, December 27, is reserved for a concert by Marko Tolja, a well-known Croatian singer. As part of his "Winter Tour 2024," his charismatic and unique performance will begin at 8:30 PM, with DJ Hoky entertaining the audience before and after the concert.

On Saturday, December 28, fans of the popular Group Cambi will be delighted. Known for their powerful vocal performances combining traditional and contemporary sounds with a Mediterranean flair, they will perform their greatest hits, including “Zaljubljen,” “Od milijun samo jedna,” “Samo kraj mene živjela si,” “Pronađi me,” “Zovem prijatelje moje,” and more, as well as impressive renditions of other artists’ songs.

The final day of the official "Magic on the Hill" program, Sunday, December 29, begins with a children’s play in the Christmas Cinema at 4 PM, followed by a children’s film screening at 5:30 PM. The evening concludes with a performance by DJ Hoky at 7 PM.

Beautiful memories of this magical advent season can be immortalized with professional photographs at the Renaissance tower “Nova Vrata” on Ressel Square, where a Christmas photo session will be set up.
