Summer Cinema: The War with Grandpa

A sixth-grade student, Peter (Oakes Fegley), is a pretty average kid—he loves playing video games, hanging out with friends, and his beloved pair of Air Jordans. But when his recently widowed grandfather Ed (Robert De Niro) moves in with the family, Peter is forced to give up his most precious possession: his bedroom. Unwilling to let this injustice stand, Peter concocts an increasingly clever series of pranks to drive out the intruder. However, Grandpa Ed isn’t going down without a fight. What starts as mischievous rivalry soon escalates into an all-out war with hilarious consequences.

Based on the award-winning novel by Robert Kimmel Smith, ''The War with Grandpa'' is a funny family comedy featuring a stellar ensemble cast including Uma Thurman, Rob Riggle, Cheech Marin, Laura Marano, and Christopher Walken.
