City Beach – the sea beneath the walls
Swimming alongside the iconic stone walls of the old town, dating back to the 13th century, is one of the most unique experiences in Novigrad. The City Beach stretches along the historic core, where centuries-old stone fortifications meet the open blue horizon.
There is no classic pebble shoreline here. Instead, the sea is experienced from stone plateaus, piers and steps that lead directly into crystal-clear water. Mornings are reserved for peaceful swims or activities like SUP along the walls, while afternoons bring a livelier atmosphere: children jumping from piers, swimmers catching the last rays of sun, and the stone glowing in warm golden tones. Belveder and Rotonda add a distinctive architectural character, creating a setting rarely found on urban beaches. Here, the sea is not separate from the city – it is its natural extension.
Perfect for: morning swimmers, lovers of historic settings, active visitors (swimming, SUP), and anyone who wants to experience summer in the very heart of the town.
