Above Grožnjan’s loggia there used to be a granary for storing grain and flour. Today it is the Fonticus town gallery, which promotes contemporary Croatian and foreign artists by organising solo exhibitions every couple of weeks.
During an art season, Fonticus displays some twenty solo projects and three collective works, and hosts special events such as the Grožnjan Visual Artists’ Circle.
Once a year, the gallery exhibits selected works of art from the Grožnjan Art Holdings, which takes pride in as many as 889 pieces by 343 artists from 19 countries.
It serves as a venue for art colonies: Croatian and foreign artists paint in different locations across the town and later exhibit their works.
The town’s gallery studio is also occasionally used for exhibitions.
The Fonticus town gallery is open for visits throughout the year.
