
In Grožnjan, from June 19 to 21, the Municipal Day is celebrated in honor of the patron saints St. Vitus, Modestus, and Crescentia. The rich and diverse program combines sports, tradition, culture, and entertainment, bringing together locals and visitors in an atmosphere of community and celebration.
The celebrations begin on Friday, with the highlight taking place throughout Saturday and Sunday. Saturday is dedicated to sports, entertainment, and traditional events. During the day, bocce tournaments are held in Grožnjan and Šterna, an international chess tournament, and a small-sided football tournament. A special highlight is the event “Day of Old Customs and Crafts”, which revives continental and coastal traditions and the rich cultural heritage of the region. Visitors have the opportunity to experience old skills, crafts, and ways of life. The evening features a concert by the popular band Vigor, providing the peak of the entertainment program.
Sunday’s program offers a blend of tradition, art, and sports. In addition to the clay pigeon shooting tournament, youth football tournament, and solemn Mass, the program is enriched by exhibition openings and concert performances, completing this year’s celebration in a festive and authentic Istrian atmosphere.
